Responsible for managing the Self Directed Investors Middle Office team (7 people). Responsibilities will range from providing support, guidance and training to team members, manage performance, to planning and delegating responsibilities, following up on issues, proactively liasing with the business to ensure seamless delivery, ensuring that efficient operating procedures, policies and controls are in place and applied correctly within the group.
The primary objective of the SDI Middle Office team is to provide effective support to Sales teams and Product Specialist; processing of all core products that include, but not limited to, FX, Money Markets, Fixed Income, Equities, Market Participation Notes (MPN) and Structured Notes. The team is responsible for the following tasks:
Post Execution Control and reconciliation of trade orders including the accuracy of trade execution details into the Accounting System (
Efficient matching of PB trades against all relevant trading counterparts. Managing the relationship with all trading counterparts.
Ensuring prompt settlement of all trade orders.
Investigation and resolution of all issues related to trade orders, ranging from execution to booking to settlement to Pricing.
Preparing ad-hoc reports for the SDI Sales desk.
Implementation of new products and services requested by the PB business.
Liasing with all other PB functions such as credit, risk, audit, front office, operations, legal and technology support.
PROFILE:
The successful candidate should have several years Back Office or Middle Office similar experience, in-depth knowledge of financial instruments and the banking industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, he/she is able to interact with Front Office and other private banking functions. An ability to handle stress, taking initiatives, anticipating issues and finding solutions, taking responsibility for the development of others, understanding risks and strong communication skills are significantly important.
